Hill End Historic Village Site

Hill End Historic Village

Hill End is an historic village with a living community, featuring original gold rush street scapes and buildings dating back to the 1850s. It's the perfect place to relive the early gold mining days of 19th century New South Wales.

Take a self-guided tour of the town starting at the visitor centre. Then onto the museum and Bald Hill Tourist Mine for some gold panning. Don't forget to visit La Paloma Pottery and the Hill End Press Gallery in the Holtermann's Corner Store.

We were blown in by the strong winds so made a fire and stayed cosy for our short stay. We’ve loved exploring and building fires, enjoyed the quietness and generally had a lovely time as a family – with no technology to distract us from us! Yay!
